Consistent surf ruled the weekend. Surf heights from 2’-3’ were the norm for three days of the 2011 Local Motion Surf into Summer presented by Quiksilver. The best surf arrived daily from 9am-12pm with the increasing tide, resulting in a bump in wave height and nice clean open faces. Surf allowed competitors from all divisions to exhibit their talents performing high performance turns, sneaking in the occasional barrel or busting the risky air. Three hundred surfers competed through the weekend. Standouts in the water included Matty Costa taking first in the Junior Mens division, Gavin Klein from Mens Shortboard, and Edric Baldwin in the Senior Mens Division final, who scored a Firewire surf board for his first place effort.
